• Identify keywords or phrases to use in your search.
• Check your spelling. Spelling counts!

When you're at the computer ...

• Start with a kid-friendly search tool such as Yahooligans or KidsClick.
• Read the online "Help" or "Tips" provided by the search tool.
• Try a second search tool if your first search is not successful.

When you find a page that fits your need ...

• Evaluate it according to the web page evaluation criteria.
• Record the information needed to cite it as a source.
